Director University Dining Services
Rice University

David McDonald, MBA has been working in the housing and dining services industry for 26 years. He was working in Northern California until he came to Rice in 2007 as the Director of Residential Dining. In this role, he has encouraged students to eat healthier and begin a farming project to introduce locally grown food in the serveries. Additionally, he has encouraged chef's at Rice to continue their education through various levels of certification by the ACF to gain more knowledge of techniques and future trends in culinary arts. Currently, he is the Senior Business Director for Housing and Dining, but is still engaging students in sustainable dining habits. David is an advocate for sustainable growing and farming practices; also encouraging schools in the area to focus on nutritional awareness and education. He believes conservation at all levels is of paramount importance.
