The Shell Center for Sustainability's mission is to foster an interdisciplinary program of research, outreach, and education to address actions that can be taken to ensure the sustainable development of communities' living standards, interpreted broadly, to encompass all factors affecting the overall quality of life.

Video Competition

Each year, the Shell Center for Sustainability (SCS) presents a sustainability conference that focuses on important areas of sustainability in the Houston region. An art segment is included. Local artists are invited to create an artistic interpretation of the conference subject in a way that raises awareness about the issue.

The October 5, 2010 conference, Sustainable Land Use - Creating A Better Future For The Houston Region, will feature a video competition as part of the conference art component.
