Mission

The Shell Center for Sustainability's mission is to foster an interdisciplinary program of research, outreach, and education to address actions that can be taken to ensure the sustainable development of communities' living standards, interpreted broadly, to encompass all factors affecting the overall quality of life.

October 25, 2007  -  Rice University funds the International Visiting Fellows Program in Energy, the Environment, and Sustainability

Rice University funds the International Visiting Fellows Program in Energy, the Environment, and Sustainability to bring experienced researchers to Houston to develop workable solutions to the world's energy and environmental challenges. The Shell Center for Sustainability and the School of Social Sciences join the Energy and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI), the George R. Brown School of Engineering, Weiss School of Natural Sciences, Rice Energy Forum, and the China-U.S. Center for Environmental Remediation and Sustainable Development to announce the call for applications.

The Shell Center for Sustainability at Rice University appoints a new Associate Director and Academic Director to lead the Center.
