The Shell Center serves as a public forum for addressing critical issues related to local, regional, national and global sustainability. We invite the exchange of diverse viewpoints by representatives from academia, business, government, and nongovernmental organizations.
An important focus is on the sustainability of urban areas and major coastal cities, and a number of events have related directly to Houston's water quality, air quality, flooding, and scenarios for the city's future. Critical global issues have been addressed, including carbon management, climate change, and sustainable development in China.
