2016 Annual Report

The Shell Center for Sustainability continues to fund a wide range of projects focused in making our planet more sustainable.  While most of this research is conducted in the Houston area, eligibility for Center funding requires that the knowledge gained is transferable to other regions.  Even projects that have a more restricted geographic focus, such as our now completed Houston Indicators project, have made the data and results easily available online for other researchers, planners and interested citizens. I am very proud of our long legacy of providing funding for some of Rice University’s most creative minds working in truly collaborative, interdisciplinary projects.
